Our series aim to unwind the perplexities of inclusive recruitment, shedding light on its fundamental role in shaping a forward-thinking and equitable work environment.

Our talk series includes three sessions in a bi-weekly period. At heart of this series lies the commitment to fostering inclusivity in the workplace. It endeavors to create awareness, provide actionable insights, and contribute to the development of inclusive practices. By championing diversity and inclusion, we aim to foster workplaces that celebrate differences and make everyone feel empowered and successful.

Meet the Speakers

Kyawt Kay Thi Win is a DEI thought leader, strategist, and Country Director of the Business Coalition for Gender Equality. Kyawt designed and developed the first workplace gender equality index and assessment in the country, ‘Know Your WGE’, which guides organisations in their gender reporting process and is also an advisory panel member in the regional workplace gender equality assessment of GEARS. Kyawt consults with businesses and organisations on strategic solutions for fostering equitable and inclusive workplaces. This important work focuses on nurturing inclusive leadership, creating a workplace for all, embracing respectful workplaces, combatting unconscious bias, fostering inclusive recruitment, leading inclusive communications, and overcoming social norms and stereotypes which improve employee engagement and increasing productivity within organisation. She has become a leading voice for the business sector agenda on DEI in Myanmar recognised by the Asia D&I Champion Award 2022 from Women Icons Network. She is the president of the ASEAN Human Development organisation, Myanmar Chapter, founder of Up The Starts, and sits on the Advisory Board of Women’s Voice Leadership Myanmar and Myanmar Sustainable Business Network.

Mya Hpone Thant is a Senior HR Lead at the Business Coalition for Gender Equality, bringing over a decade of progressive experience in human resources. With a strong background in client relations, performance management, and employee relations, she has demonstrated expertise in supporting HR management and development. Prior to her role at BCGE, Mya Hpone held positions at different organizations, including the United Nations and various International NGOs. She has successfully led two sexual harassment prevention projects as the HR Advisor, showcasing her project management capabilities. Mya Hpone is particularly skilled in gender-related activities and organizational development, contributing to her proficiency in developing policies, especially those focused on preventing workplace harassment and bullying. Her ability to foster positive relationships with diverse stakeholders further enhances her professional profile. Mya Hpone holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English from Yangon University. She furthered her academic achievements by obtaining a Global Master of Business Administration from the Swiss Business School, Switzerland. She also holds a Diploma in Human Resources Development from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM). As a dedicated HR professional, she is willing to contribute her strength, experience, and knowledge to improve staff’s working lives in a healthy and inclusive workplace environment and apply her considerable expertise to the continuous improvement of organizational operations and business success.
