According to Myanmar Times, Myanmar produced 5901 megawatts of electricity during the past six-month period ending in March 2019 and it was estimated to produce 6054 megawatts by the end of September 2019. However, only 42% of the population has access to electricity so the country has a lot of challenges to face before achieving universal electrification.
In this seminar, the opportunities and challenges of energy sector in Myanmar will be discussed by the following speakers:
- Mr. David Levrat, Country Representative of Tractebel-Engie, will give you updates on Myanmar power context and ongoing power projects;
- Mr. Guillaume de Langre, Advisor to National Electrification Plan in Myanmar & Energy Research Manager of International Growth Center, will speak about Myanmar’s electrification, grid expansion and minigrids as well as the institutional reform of MOEE.
As we expect a high turnout for this event, registrations are mandatory and will be closed once we have reached capacity, after which a waiting list will be implemented.
