The French International School of Yangon (LFIR) is a French non-profit educational institution of excellence. Since 2016, it has been a contracted member of the AEFE (“Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger” or “Agency for French Education Abroad”), a government institution tasked with guaranteeing the provision of high-quality French education across the world. As such, the school is accredited by the French Ministry of Education. The LFIR welcomes students of all nationalities, from nursery to High School - over fifteen different nationalities are currently represented! Curriculums are done in French and English, with dedicated support for non-French speakers. The school aims to promote personal development and to help students improve their confidence and critical thinking skills. Students are encouraged to strive for excellence, while valuing interaction and respect for one another. The LFIR is managed since September 2016 by the LFIR association, the student’s parent’s association.
