Yangon, Myanmar, 14 June 2018

The first year INTERMAT ASEAN and CONCRETE ASIA international co-located exhibition for the Asian concrete sector will be held on 6-8 September, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.

INTERMAT ASEAN is the Southeast Asian trade exhibition on construction and infrastructure and CONCRETE ASIA is the international exhibition for the Asian concrete sector.

For the first time, these two major international trade fairs will merge in order to best meet the needs of the construction sector, adapt to changes in the industry and strengthen the value proposition to the customers. Thus, providing opportunities to explore the latest trends and to source products, this event will bring more than 5,000 leading companies and brands in Bangkok, Thailand.

Southeast Asia is one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing regions. The construction industry is forecasted to grow at an average rate of 8-12% till 2019 with positive effects for construction sector, resulting in an increase in backlogs of the volume of work available. Moreover, the cement industry has grown stemming from government economic stimulus measures, especially large infrastructure projects.

According to Mrs. Sommawan Lowhaphandu, the conference presenter, “INTERMAT ASEAN and Concrete Asia therefore serve as the perfect trade platform for the industry to explore the multitude of opportunities available, as well as discover the innovations in Asia”.

For INTERMAT exhibition, Myanmar was only 8th in terms of the number of visitors. So, the purpose of this press conference was to promote the event to Burmese construction companies. For that, CCI France Myanmar invited especially 3 guest speakers: U Thein Han, Vice President of MCEA, U Tin Ko Win, Chief Operation Officer of Myanmar Synergy and Mr. Siva Prakash, Chief Financial Officer of CDSG.

This event will therefore be an opportunity for companies to network and to attend different shows dedicated to the construction industry in ASEAN such as conferences, demonstrations, business matching programs, etc.

In conclusion, it was a great success for Intermat Asean & Concrete Asia press conference and we would like to thank all the guests that attended the event and especially the guest speakers.
