Poe-ma Group of companies has been established in 1991 in French Polynesia. The company later expanded in Asia-Pacific, with offices in New-Caledonia, Wallis-et-Futuna, La Réunion, Vanuatu, France, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

Established in Yangon since 2012, our local presence in this yet-to-be-developed economy proves our commitment in our regional development and ensures our client availability, reactivity and true understanding. Poe-ma insuranceswas the first international insurancebroker to open a Representative office in Myanmar after the political transition to civilian government. We can help both local and international clients to find legal insurance solutions on the global market.

For the past 26 years, Poe-ma insurances has developed a sharp expertise of tropical regions and newly developed countries, with their specific economic activities and challenges. Starting in Tahiti with black pearl farms, a high-risk business if we consider how fragile are pearls during their 7 years of growth, Poe-ma insurances has since thrived in supporting businesses and projects in challenging environments. Poe-ma insurances is also a cover holder at Lloyd’s.

Our sister company Poe-ma assistance & services complements our activities with integrated solutions in the region. Our team provides 24-hour assistance and emergency evacuation services for travelers and expats. Managing about 500 cases per year (150 in Myanmar), we operate in Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, three countries in which the access of quality medical care is difficult and thus requiring real flexibility, high professionalism, and a dose of creativity. We have access to the largest network of contracted private hospitals in Myanmar. We are also the local correspondent of most of global assistance and insurance companies and provide Third Party Administrator (TPA) and claim management services.

Two other branches are also part of our Group: PUMA Underwriting (Poe-ma Underwriting & Management Agency), our reinsurance entity for complex risks, and PUMA Solutions,providing specialized IT solutions for insurance brokers and medical assistance companies.
